Nice. I just saw the show, and wanted to get a shirt as well. LS looks like a great organization to work for and it not only flows top down from a CEO who actually cares, but from the bottom up, with a solid core of good employees, who also, actually care about their company. Bravo, Lucky Strike.

Steven Foster is an extraordinary man with amazing people in his employ. Were we all so lucky to express our thoughts and share them with someone who would actually be interested in seeing them to fruition. Amazing...his mother must have truly been an amazing woman. I have one also :)

Mr Foster,
ONE WORD......INSPIRED!
I hope this comment finds it's way to your desk. I watched The Undercover Boss episode featuring your company and am inspired by the way you manage Lucky Strike. I was completely taken with the emotional connections you have with Mom (condolences) and wife and of course your baby Lucky Strike! At your level of success it is refreshing to see such a willingness to learn. It became apparent while you were in the Nyack Store. Simple things like the League idea and the space for employees to break can have a huge impact on the bottom line. But the message for me was clear; I needed to reevaluate the value of the people who work on the front lines in my business. Listening is vital to growth.
Anyway I found myself so inspired and so excited for you. It seems to me you are very genuine and watching you have a moment of clarity on TV was a privilege. You are on the right track and clearly are finding ways to grow and promote,in essence what is, a bowling alley business in a time when I see lanes closing all over the country. It became apparent by the end of the show just how much heart you have. Lynn and I both teared up. The amount of press and the completely new spin you created here has clearly made it much more than a bowling alley. This could only happen with a person of your vision and passion. Do you cringe when I say bowling alley? I'm sure you do. You better...!

I can see Lucky Strike becoming a billion dollar company helping in a meaningful way the employees and the communities you serve along the way. Good luck my friend. By the way I burned a disc of the episode and am asking my team to watch it.
Sidebar
I dont own the company I work for but have been there 16yrs and am instrumental in creating and maintaining a family culture. We have closed 2/3 of our locations and laid off hundreds in the last 2 yrs and sadly have lost much of that so carefully crafted culture. We are on the mend and stabilizing and will be back on top soon. Considering my experience the past 2 yrs it was nice watching a man with heart and soul feel something so deep for the employees who run his baby. I aspire to that level of passion.

--
Warmest Regards,
Joe McCoppin
jmchzn@gmail.com

I suggested this spot for lunch and it sucked so hard my friends made me pick up their tab. The food was okay, nothing special, but the service was awful. Our bartender was obviously frazzled by someone complaining about their food and she let it overcome her disposition. She was throwing f-bombs left and right and she got really passive aggressive. Only one of us had a cloth napkin with silverware. I asked for a napkin and she grabbed a three inch stack of napkins and slammed them on the bar in front of me and walked away. There was a waitress standing nearby who saw what went down and brought me and my other friend a setting of silverware, a cloth napkin and an apology. There is NO reason I'll ever go back there. Marginal food at an inflated price, the only decent place to sit is at the bar and the service at the bar was awful. I couldn't get out of there soon enough. It sucks because I was really excited to try a cool new place. It's just the curse of downtown Phoenix I guess. I give it 5 stars for a suck factor but only 1 star in every other category.
